I took wife to the late Boots chemist near where we live, pharmacist asked many questions and told us to ring 111 as it looks infected.
We rang 111 and had a call from the out of hours GP who asked us to visit the Small Injuries unit at a hospital 10 miles away and be there before 21. 30.
We set off arrived 21. 15 was seen 21. 50 issued with prescription for Antibiotics, crème and anti histamines- back to Boots to get items and home.
Well done to the NHS for quick turn around and all is well.
