"Prescription Inhalers"

About: St Andrew's Healthcare

(as a service user),

I have been asking to have a prescription inhaler to support my non smoking, which I have had stop because of the ban in hospital grounds. I had an inhaler when I was at my last hospital, when transferred to St Andrews I was no longer allowed this aid. I have spoken with staff around this and am just told it is not an option. I am only able to access a patch or lozenger as support, yet neither of these are helping me. I am feeling upset.

Thank you for sharing your story and I understand your frustration. You don't give a ward or pathway so I would encourage you to speak to your care co-ordinator or nurse manager to discuss your concerns. You can also contact the patient experience team. I hope we can support you to give up smoking in a way that helps you
