A few things to consider:
1. Presented to A&E for an abscess which was open. Eventually needed surgery, but even though at 4 AM there was nobody in A&E, was sent to GMed (hospital GP service) with appointment at 6. 20 AM. Eventually seen and sent home with paracetamol and antibiotics and told to return at 10AM to a surgical clinic. Was admitted to hospital for a surgery through the clinic. Why not be admitted through A&E?
2.I felt that a nurse in ward 301 was uncaring and indifferent to my needs and it seemed obvious to me that they had not read my chart. They also needed assistance changing a gauze dressing, and all they could do was offer to "hold phone so you can see". What kind of nursing is that?
3. Nursing in ward 208 Pink zone is exceptional and professional. Surgeons overall and exceptional too.
4. It is a teaching hospital, you need to be used to seeing a lot of student doctors and continually repeating the same information.
