"Thank you for an exceptional patient experience"

I was admitted for emergency bladder aspiration following a procedure from another hospital that had complications.

I want to extend a huge thank you to the Heron ward team and hope you might pass this on for me. There are too many names to mention but the patient experience was superb. Including;

-cheerful and down to earth attitude to life. Guaranteed to make you smile and always a story to listen to whilst going through the nursing procedures

-caring,  sympathetic nature and professional advice that made my anxieties vanish

Consultant - for stepping in at an unearthly hour when the team called in an emergency and a steady hand was needed. Calm, experienced and very reassuring 

- bubbly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The consultant responded quickly to some pretty uncomfortable situations and got me back comfortable again.

Health care assistants - caring and lovely personality. Always a story during observations and taking care of me in the middle of the night.

Nurses - professional and friendly, gave huge confidence that I was in a safe pair of hands.

- nurses in charge - what can I say about an experienced, highly motivated and patient orientated professionals that you don't already know? Simply brilliant and willingly gave advice based on years of being there and knowing what to do!

Overnight nurses -

Caring, attentive, professional and experienced. A dedicated and selfless set of individuasl who exude trust and confidence. I felt safe and secure during some pretty toe curling moments

Countless catering, cleaning and support staff. They came and went in a dizzying mass of activity. Probably the ones that don't get thanked enough as the patients don't get to know them. But my thanks for clean facilities, food delivery and regular cups of tea delivered with a smile and a chat.

A special note to the catering manager for achieving what must be miracles with tight budgets, nutritional constraints and yet managing to deliver an excellent level of variety, good standards and (from a crumble and custard lover) great desserts. I was pleasantly surprised at the menu . I was pleasantly surprised and choice - beats many high street cafe/restaurants hands down!
