I called the 111 service after I fell on a concrete pat and banged my head. Although I felt okay I was concerned about the size of the lump that came up. The lady who answered was lovely, she reassured me that it was sensible to call and that she would send out a paramedic to check I was alright.
The first responder came within 10 minutes followed by an ambulance and crew not long after that. the paramedic examined me initially and thought all was well but when the ambulance arrived he suggested they also did further checks to make sure no serious injuries were sustained.
The paramedic and ambulance crew were very kind and caring. having ruled out anything serious they stressed that if I developed any other symptoms to be sure to call 111 again and to seek medical help. They were brilliant.
"They were brilliant."
