I came to stage ward after being previously in other hospitals after suffering TIA stroke like, I descended into some kind of dementia and was diagnosed with Korsakoff syndrome. I went to stage ward and was there for quite a while and was diagnosed and tested for Parkinson's and several scans test to find out what was wrong with me,
Hydrcephalus was the reason for a lumbar puncture when my spinal fluid was tested it turned out I had Neuro Syphilis which develops over a long period 10 years plus with no obvious symptoms.I was treated by mass antibiotic treatment through drips over 2 weeks. I recovered my senses fully after a few weeks and was discharged. If anyone from Stage ward reads this or if someone can pass it on to them. I would say to them thank you for the oustanding commitment and the care they took when I was at my lowest point. I am fully recovered now, had a negative test and have got my life back and working again
Because of the nature of my illness, I will keep my full name to myself. But "Dave Sw" and my circumstance may ring a bell with them
"Stage Ward Thank you"
