"Staff and patients frustrated."

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity

(as a service user),

Midwives try to go out of the way however are under pressure. Understaffed, overworked. Although my experience has been a great on labour and postnatal, still staff are overworked (not enough people). During Ante Natal, I felt pressure on staff was disgusting. Patients constantly told about overcrowding issues, capacity (mainly by doctors) causing stress and anxiety which isn't good anyway especially in pregnancy, Midwives and healthcare assistants running round, cannot split thereself into two.

Medication delayed, mistakes being made. Staff and patients frustrated. Due to this I'm sure across the board all NHS is suffering, however I will not attend Royal Oldham again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of our maternity service. I am pleased to hear that you found the midwives went our of their way to support you. However, I am concerned that you felt anxious during your stay and medication was delayed. This is not what we would expect as we always strive to maintain high standards. Please accept our apologies for the obvious distress that you were caused. I am more than willing to address your concerns and look further into your care during your stay. Do not hesitate to contact me directly on the email address below. I have forwarded your story to Julie the antenatal ward manager and Belinda the in-patient matron.

Once again thank you for raising your concerns
