"Brief unpleasant visit to Emergency Pregnancy..."

About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital

After being referred by my DR to the EPU for Assesment for a scan to check all was ok, I was quick to be bombarded with questions and forms to just be wisked off into a room to be told you will not now be scanned today as you are no longer pregnant..You may have had a miscarriage but dont worry it happens all the time and now be on your way!

I was made to feel stupid and a nuisance being there. The nurse showed no compassion or care, offered no advice and hurried me out of the door. Under these nervewracking circumstances this was not what I'd expect. The unit wasn't busy so there should have been no pressure. I left feeling so confused and upset and feel I should have been entitled to a scan for further investigation, confirmation and reassurance.

Would not wish to return and re-live this experience ever again hopefully.

We were so sorry to read about your bad experience and the seemingly insensitive way that you were treated. We would very much like the opportunity to review your episode of care and would encourage you to contact the PALS team at mtw-tr.palsoffice@nhs.net so that this can be arranged. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will pass your feedback to the senior management team to consider. With kind regards, the PALS team
