"Frimley Park Hospital review of 3 separate..."

About: Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust

My review is based on three occasions.

Some 3 years ago our GP sent my husband to A&E with chest pains. Treatment received was first class from everyone; fast, efficient and reassuring.

Secondly, earlier this year our son suffered a near fatal motorbike accident abroad from which he is now paralysed.

We had extreme difficulty in finding any spinal cord injury specialist who would be prepared to accept him for care and so could not get him medically repatriated until there was a guaranteed high care bed for him here.

After contacting the doctor at Frimley Park our son was able to be flown back and admitted, was thoroughly examined by the specialist team upon arrival in A&E, and received some weeks of excellent care until he was able to be transferred to a specialist rehabilitation centre.

We will always be grateful for this, and for the sympathetic, excellent care and treatment our son received at such a difficult and devastating time.

Lastly, just to add to what has been an awful year so far, I visited A&E last month with a leg injury.

Again, from the helpful reception onwards, all the staff were absolutely lovely.

I was seen very quickly in the minor injuries unit, scanned, diagnosed with a severed Achilles' tendon and put into a plaster cast during the morning.

The same Doctor followed my progress through the various stages, and I cannot sing the praises of every single member of staff enough.

I have been back to the fracture unit twice since, for new casts, and although at the most recent appointment the unit was very busy, I still have the utmost confidence in my treatment and the professionalism of all the staff at the hospital, who go out of their way to help and reassure.

Excellent!
