My mother in law aged 90 arrived late for her appointment as there was an unavoidable delay with her hospital transport.
When we arrived at the unit she was expected and taken immediately in to be registered. The nursing staff were simply amazing. They spoke to her with respect taking her frail state and anxiety well into account and noting too her stress having been waiting so long for transport.
The staff were reassuring, gentle and caring. They clearly understood her anxiety and were informed and responsive to her concerns.
The procedure was done with the same high level of sensitivity to her specific concerns too. I was welcomed and included readily into my supportive role.
All information given was easily understood and explained throughout.
Our experience was a superb example of the NHS at it' s best!
I cannot commend highly enough the staff in the unit and the transport staff for her care. Thankyou
