"Getting a coil fitted"

About: Beckenham Beacon Urgent Care Centre

(as the patient),

I had a coil fitted today at the Beckenham Beacon contraception clinic. In the run up to the appointment I was feeling quite anxious as I had read online and also heard from friends how uncomfortable and sometimes painful it can be.

I just wanted to thank the Nurse and Doctor who gave the procedure. They are clearly very busy and like all of us - tired almost at the end of a work week - they still gave me such a friendly and personable service that I rarely receive when I visit my GP. The staff today helped me to relax. Gave clear and relevant information. Didn't make me feel rushed or unable to ask questions and I walked out a coil fitting appointment smiling from our conversations!

Dear Bonita

Thanks for sharing your experience at Beckenham Beacon and to hear that the staff you saw helped to reduce your anxiety and that all went well.

Jessica
