"Can you vary patient activities?"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as the patient),

Can you vary Patient activities on Evan's ward?  you need more staff to open Chilton day centre and run more activities on the ward for Patients. Some cooking sessions would be great. It was a while ago but we did have a good day for st Georges day. Fish and chips were excellent and the fact that we had visitors who came in from the Rosewood Involvement Centre was good. They give us a lot of support for the patients and this gives us a boost in confidence. I think you need more TIWs ( Theraputic involvement workers ) to run programs

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive feedback on the activities that you have been offered at Chiltern Day Centre such as St. George’s fish and chips day and visits from the Rosewood Involvement Centre. A wide range of activities has been offered in Chiltern and various other professionals. This at times resulted in patients missing out on some therapeutic sessions as they clashed with others. In view of this, the Hospital's Senior Management Team met last month to review all activities across the hospital and produce a new timetable for the whole hospital. The aim of the new timetable was to enhance all patient progress to lesser security and to ensure that each patient's activity programme reflects his/her individual CPA care plan. The new timetable also ensures that therapeutic involvement workers and ward based staff are able to offer and support all those activities that are identified on the hospital wide timetable.

Your ward manager has presented the ward's activity timetable to Evans community meeting which was co-produced by patients and staff. Please continue to monitor and review the timetable at future meetings. I recommend that you and your colleagues attend and/or continue to attend future ward community meetings so that you are involved in supporting the delivery and reviewing of the programme and to ensure that your views have been heard.

Once again thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding activities.
