"I feel like I am being ignored"

About: Heartlands Hospital

(as the patient),

I am ready for discharge. I received lovely care to begin with, mostly attentive nurses, helpful doctors and invaluable support staff bringing food and water. Now I'm ready to go I feel I'm waiting around and generally being ignored. It is deeply frustrating and is beginning to colour my entire experience of the NHS.

Dear ds45

Thank you for your feedback regarding your patient experience at Heartlands Hospital. I am so disappointed to read that you feel you are being ignored and waiting around, even though you are ready for discharge, despite feeling that you received lovely care when you were first admitted, and that you found the nursing staff attentive, the Doctors helpful, and the ancillary ward staff supportive.

I can appreciate you feeling frustrated and I would like the opportunity to examine your patient journey more closely.

Could I please ask you to contact me at your convenience on 0121 424 0808 (9am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday, with a voicemail service at all other times) or by email:

marie.helebert@nhs.net

This will enable me to obtain some more information from you and investigate appropriately.

I would be most grateful and look forward to hearing from you, I hope this is acceptable.

With kind regards

Marie Helebert
