"Kempton ward Learning disability service"

About: Rampton Hospital Rampton Hospital / National High Secure Learning Disability Service

(as the patient),

My Named Nurse is sometimes kind to me but sometimes if I am not being good they take my radio and teddy bear off me at Night, why is that I don’t like it when they take things off me. I love my teddy bear and I just dont understand when they take things off me. I think I have a care plan but not sure. I like to visit the shop here the Staff are nice there. I also like all the Staff at the Southwell day centre, I wish I could go more but if I am bad I dont seem to go, why is that?

Hi There,

I'm so sorry you don't seem to have things explained to you about what you can have access to and when this is safe. I'd really like you to speak to your Ward Manager to ask her to go through your care plan and what you need to do to get off the ward more to visit Southwell day centre. Sometimes is seems hard to understand why you can't have things in your room but there will be a care plan to keep you safe, but you need to be able to see this to help you understand why. If you read this reply please ask to speak to Lorriane, your ward manager or Gail, the Deputy Matron for your ward and they will help you understand and explain what you need to do to make sure you can have access to these items and visit Southwell more.

Kind Regards
