"Victoria Unit"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Breast surgery

I was referred to the Breast Care Unit after finding a lump.

I arrived feeling very nervous, scared and anxious.

The warm welcome from the receptionist set the tone for my appointment.

I was treated exceptionally well throughout my visit by every member of staff I met and my feelings were taken into consideration at all times.

I was kept fully informed throughout the morning as to what was happening, why and next steps.

I would particularly like to single out the radiographer, who explained the mammogram process simply and dealt with my mini-meltdown, without judgement but with care, empathy and compassion. I was fortunate to have a breast cyst which was drained immediately - without too much fuss or discomfort.

Thank you to all at staff in the Victoria Unit you are a credit to your professions.
