I have a longstanding cardiac condition. I had chest pain; it was not so bad that it warranted the urgency and expense of calling an ambulance, so my wife took me to the Hospital by car. We were seen promptly and I was speedily triaged. Bloods were taken and an ECG done. I was seen by a doctor who explained next steps. A second |ECG and an X ray were done. I was discharged with clear advice and promised that my GP would receive a report which would help my being seen in cardiac clinic.
Everything was done quietly, efficiently and effectively, at all times with the utmost courtesy and reassurance.
The premises were clean and ordered. there was nothing to criticise.
It would be complete insanity to close this service, as threatened. It is a necessary and well run service.
