I had my flexible cystoscopy appointment and went all the way to the department. I was told that they could not do the procedure as I was on my period. No where on the letter does it state that you need not to be on your period as a woman.
I then went to the PALS service and spoke to the person there and they said the template if changed would confuse men? Surely men would understand that the line about menstruation was not relevant to them? I am completely frustrated by the lack of care given to patients by hospitals. Also that patient welfare is not at the heart of the decision taking, I have had seven infections and now I have to wait a further two weeks or so for another letter to come through. This was only due to the urologist decision that they would be embrassed what about the patient feeling that due to the procedure itself??
