"Fantastic and thank you."

About: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital / Accident and emergency

Brought my little girl in for a broken arm and she had indeed broken both bones in her forearm. She was treated extremely well and all the staff were absolutely fabulous even though at times I must have seemed a confused mess. They reassured me and explained everything they were doing. They were so good with my daughter. Theatre staff were amazing too and kept my little girl calm. On ward the staff were equally as good. Although we had to go on morning list because of emergencies we never felt that we were in the way or that they just didn't have the time for us. My only real complaint is how much it has cost me with drinks, food and parking. I expect food and drinks for myself but found the parking a little excessive considering i had no choice but to stay overnight with my little girl and they don't issue passes.

Thank you for letting us know about your recent experience attending the hospital following your daughter’s accident. I am pleased that overall your experience was such a positive one and that both you and your daughter felt well supported and reassured during what must have been quite a stressful time. I will share your posting with all the departments concerned. I am sorry that you felt that you had incurred significant financial expense due to the cost of food, drink and parking. I am not sure how much you spent on parking but the contractors do offer a 24 hour ticket for £12 which is less than the normal hourly rate. I have asked the PALS department today to check that this is being adequately publicised so that parents and others in your position are aware of this option. I hope that your daughter is now on the road to recovery.
