When I was admitted on to the ward ELM SAU I was put in a room alone with 4 nurses. Undressed and rolled about on a bed checked for marks on my body, they seamed more interested in my tattoo. I and my husband asked several times for my normal medication, we will sort it. I was left on my back with a light shining down into my face. 3 further times I asked still no medication. I got my full meds at 12 the following day. I just wanted to get out asap.I listened to nurses shouting from one end of the ward to the other being talked at not to. I had the door shut most of the time alone, I put earplugs in to sleep and even when I read. The people on this ward are poorly some have no voice, if I was treated like this and have a voice I feel so sorry for them. my husband said it was like something out of a sketch from Dick and Doms TV show. The only positive was my consultant and the OTs and Physio really care about people. Even when I was given paracetamol IV I was not asked my name DOB or anything. I felt I was thrown out with no aftercare plan put in place. I was given a time when I could arrange for my husband to collect me. told my tablets and letter were placed in the locked drawer and told when you what them you can have them. No information was given. I was left to go not knowing what the future held..
