"Cardiac arrest at home"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Cardiac Surgery Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

After returning from a GP appointment on recently my husband started taking chest pains, my son phoned for an ambulance, the paramedics arrived at the house and started to work on my husband and kept myself and son informed to what was happening. They got my husband into ambulance and monitoring his situation and explained whilst they were working on him all of the data was getting sent direct to the cardiac team who were waiting for him at the hospital(the Royal Jubilee Hospital)I have to praise the two paramedics that attended my husband, really helpful in answering the questions and them explaining to us everything that was going on.

A big thank you to both paramedics much appreciated and also to the medical team at the CCU Lucy, Karen and Frank you all work so hard and such lovely people thanks

Dear Magpatz

Thank you so much for sharing this story on Care Opinion. This sounds like an extremely frightening and distressing experience for all of your family and so I was really pleased to read about the care that your husband received from our Paramedics and from the staff at the Golden Jubilee Hospital.

Keeping patients and their loved ones informed of what is happening can be difficult in an emergency situation but is so important. I am so glad that our Paramedics were able to this and to hear of the positive effect this had.

I would really like to pass on your thanks to the Paramedics involved but would need a few more details to allow me to do this. If you are able to provide some more details you can contact me on 0131 314 0003 or at martinesposito@nhs.net

In the mean time, please pass on my best wishes to your husband and I wish him well in his ongoing recovery.

Thanks again for sharing.

Take care

Martin.

Dear Magpatz,

Thank you so much for taking the time to feedback on your experience. I cannot begin to imagine what a frightening time it must have been for you and your husband and very pleased to hear he is making a recovery. We really appreciate you taking the time to feedback to us on the care from the Paramedics and here at Golden Jubilee.

The team here work very hard in a pretty pressured environment and it’s reassuring to hear that the care he received was as we would hope we can deliver to everyone who needs our services. Your kind thanks and praise have been shared with the team and we hope your husband continues to recover well.

Best wishes,

Laura
