"I feel that there is nowhere to go"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as the patient),

I am part of the Sense of Community project on Burne Ward at Rampton Hospital.

It has just started, I havent really thought about it much.

There are very poorly patients on this ward so it will be difficult to get a sense of community because we are all at different stages, and also because there are not enough staff. We cannot get into the pool room, off ward, to Southwell/Cresswell.

When things are tense on the ward, I feel that there is nowhere to go. You need to put patients first.

Hi

Thank you for the feedback. The sense of community project is something we would like to see patients identify what is needed on the wards to improve your experience and make you feel safer on the wards. It sounds like you have started this.

The staffing is better now, however we are still continuing to recruit for staff so I hope you will see a difference soon.

I will ensure your comments are taken seriously and see how we can improve the experience for patients on the continuing care wards as you are right, people are at different stages in thier care which must be difficult for those that are further into their recovery pathway.

Please bring this up at your ward community meeting and speak with your Ward Manager and Deputy Matron about what else can be done to support you.

Kind Regards
