I had a very positive maternity/birthing experience here. I was always invited to come to the ward and speak to someone on the ward if I had any concerns during my pregnancy, and all midwives and staff members were polite and warm upon arrival and during check-ups. During my labour, midwives carefully read my birth plan, and I was attended to throughout my labour with upmost care and dignity. My labour became complicated, and the delivery team still ensured I was fully informed of any changes to be made, always asking my permission for action to be taken. The morning after I delivered my child, one of the doctors stopped by the postnatal ward to check up on me afterwards which really touched me. I also had good breastfeeding support and immediate tests carried out on my baby (hearing test, hip check, etc.). I was also able to call the postnatal ward with any concerns after birth, and received good care when I had to bring in my baby for follow-up checks/treatments. I was very happy with my experience overall and lucky to have the delivery team that night when giving birth to my first child.
