"Excellent treatment"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Raigmore Hospital / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I suffered multiple bee stings to my face and head. On advice of NHS 24 I attended Aviemore out of hours clinic - they were hugely caring, professional and kind as I started to feel pretty rubbish.

They called an ambulance which took me to Raigmore Hospital A&E. I felt fairly dreadful at this point but they were again wonderfully reassuring and kind.

At Raigmore A&E they were also just great. Professional and kind. Their treatment got me sorted and I am immensely grateful. The nurse who brought me a really cosy / warm blanket was particularly appreciated, but ALL staff were just lovely.

I really appreciate the NHS and thank you all

Dear Sheila B

Thank you for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion. What you have described in relation to multiple bee stings sounds awful and I do wish you well. This must have been a really unpleasant experience for you.

Your story is an excellent example of services working together to provide a positive patient experience. I am sure my colleagues within NHS Highland and the Scottish Ambulance Service will be delighted to see your positive comments for their staff.

Here at NHS 24 a positive patient/caller experience is what we strive to achieve at all times. I am pleased our staff recommended referral which in turn led to subsequent face to face assessment and treatment.

Whilst NHS 24 were only involved in a small part of your whole journey of care, should you wish to provide us with any specific feedback in relation to your call to our service, then I would be delighted to hear from you. I can be contacted on 0141 337 4582 or by email at patientaffaris@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

Thanks again for sharing your story and I do hope that you are feeling so much better.

Take care

Shona

I was really sorry to hear about what happened to you. It must have been an extremely frightening experience. I was glad to read about the care that you received from everyone involved and was also glad to hear that you have now fully recovered.

Take care.
