My husband recently had eye surgery and one night the stitches in one eye had burst. We were given an appointment to go the A&E department at Hairmyres hospital at just gone midnight. The staff were fantastic and the opthamologist was excellent.
We then went back at a later date for his scheduled appointment to have the stitches in his other eye removed, again the young lady doctor was lovely and so helpful it was just fantastic. While we were waiting to be seen the ophthalmologist we had seen at our emergency appointment when we went to A&E saw us waiting and so came over to ask how we were and how my husband was doing because he had remembered us. Then, when we left our appointment he asked how our appointment went. He was genuinely interested and really cared and I thought it was just tremendous, I was so impressed. The Ophthalmologist was Georges - sorry I don't have his surname, but he certainly went above the call of duty and deserves to be recognised for his caring ways.
"Lovely Ophthalmologist"
