I gave birth at 3am on Monday morning.
I feel so grateful to all the staff in all departments right the way through the process for the care I was given. It was warm, professional and well communicated - I couldn't have asked for more. I met an awful lot of people, and moved around a lot of wards - which I wasn't expecting though this is no criticism. At each point the staff were really great.
I didn't have any kind of birth plan other than 'go to hospital and have a baby' though I was keen not to have a c-section. So my plan was a success in this respect!
Only niggles - some of the rooms felt over hot, some kind of better ventilation would've been very welcome.
I have been waxing lyrical to everybody and cannot recommend the maternity dept highly enough.
"Very positive experience indeed"
