My husband and I attended the FMU today after being referred to St Mary's by our local hospital after they thought our baby may have an anomaly in his brain (I'm 22 weeks pregnant).
From the reception through to the appointment all staff were caring and professional. At the scan I had locally I had endured lots of pressure and doctors appearing somewhat unsure. The consultant today put me immediately at ease and promptly got all the images they needed without too much pressure or looking confused. This along with a kind manner and I was really impressed.
Luckily for us the suspected anomaly wasn't confirmed but if it had been we couldn't have been in better hands. The only slight complaint was waiting a week for an appointment but again we understand this in the context of the pressures on the NHS.
"Brilliant staff at the Fetal Medicine Unit"
