Firstly I'd like to start with an apology for taking so long to write this feedback. Being a new mother has been quite difficult to find the time :-D
I gave birth to our baby boy at the QA on May 30th. Firstly, I started off in B5 under the care of a member of staff who was amazing and very supportive through the early stages of labour. Shift change saw the arrival of another staff member and student midwife who were absolute legends throughout the remainder of my difficult birth. They stayed with me until the bitter end and for that I am eternally grateful.
My birth had started as very low risk but ended as an emergency c section. Throughout the whole 26 hours the level of care I received was absolutely amazing. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for the medical staff at QA B5 and B8. Every single person who was there providing care was thoughtful, caring and supportive. They kept me informed of what was happening to me all the way and at no point did I ever feel scared. Having never been in hospital before I was surprised how relaxed I was considering what was happening to me. I absolutely put that down to the staff and their approach to providing what can only be described at first class care.
Thank to all the amazing staff at QA maternity unit. Please don't stop what you are doing!
I'd love to be able to make contact with the midwives personally to thank them. If someone could make that happen I would be very grateful.
Best wishes to you all.
