"Minor Injury Treatment - Dislocated Shoulder"

About: Torbay Hospital / Accident and emergency

On presenting at A&E at 0830 on a weekday I was quickly processed, luckily with only a light number of waiting patients.

In great pain having suffered a dislocated shoulder 7 hours earlier, unable to reach hospital more quickly, I was triaged and provided with pain relief.

In Minor Injuries, I was quickly processed through X-Ray.

The X-Ray was interpreted quickly, allowing appropriate treatment, under the most appropriate level of sedation.

Once manipulated by a sufficiently strong person, the injury site was re X-Rayed and once the shoulder was reviewed as being a satisfactory replacement I was discharged.

Throughout this two hour experience I was extremely well cared-for.

All staff involved were independently kind, professional and efficient and should be complimented.
