"Strange appointment system"

About: Hertfordshire & Essex Hospital

I have had a few strange experiences with appointments at this hospital.

I turned up to an appointment (paid to park and took time out to attend) only to find that they had cancelled my appointment and claimed they had called me that day to cancel (I showed my phone at reception to show no missed calls (they had called the wrong number.

I thought oh well these things happen..... only then at a later date I received a letter threatening to contact my GP for not showing up to the appointment (that not only did I show up to but they had cancelled?????)

They have called my ex partner regarding an appointment even though I had updated my details with them.

And more recently I had to cancel an appointment as I have to work every Thursday and said that I cannot make Thursdays and as one might imagine another appointment has been booked for a Thursday (with this in bold 'Failed Appointments cost the NHS approximately £150, please attend this appointment'

Even though I have clearly stated that I cannot make Thursdays!

Perhaps they just have an amazing sense of irony and a wonderful sense of humour or maybe the person taking messages has not taken the training course in the use of a pen?
