I was identified by my community midwife as having high blood pressure during a routine appointment and she directed me to attend the new Aberdeen maternity day unit for further tests and monitoring to check for potential development of pre eclampsia.
On arrival at the unit I was greeted within minutes by staff and explained to clearly what would happen next. I was taken into the unit and made to feel extremely comfortable and confident in the care I received from both Coral and Linda who went out of their way to make me feel at ease and comfortable at a time that could have been quite stressful. All tests were carried out in an extremely professional manner and explained clearly throughout. Staff were so friendly and approachable and gave me great confidence in their abilities as they were so professional and thorough throughout.
I was started on treatment while on the unit and then transferred to an appropriate ward to be kept overnight. Staff members from the unit also took me down to the ward and ensured I knew what was happening and where to go. The care and experience I received on the maternity day unit was excellent and the staff were really lovely in their manner and I feel they should be nominated for an award as they are providing such an amazing service to parents to be who are attending in at times a really upset stressed state. Keep up the excellent work.
"They provide such amazing care"
