"Trying to Telephone Eastbourne DGH"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital / Cardiology

Just tried to contact hospital about follow up appointment after recent Heart Attack.

Treatment by consultant, Doctors and Nurses could not have been better.

I am making a good recovery.

So sad that a main reception of a major hospital is not answering the phone after six attempts at 12 noon today.

Perhaps because of cut backs there is not back up staff over the lunch period ??

Dear Mr Hart

We apologise that you found it difficult to make contact with Eastbourne DGH to enquire about your cardiology follow up appointment. We appreciate this must have been incredibly frustrating for you.

To enable us to look into this matter further, it would be helpful if we knew the telephone number you were calling.

The cardiology department has several direct telephone numbers.

To confirm this information, please contact our Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on 01323 435886 or by email to: esh-tr.PALSE@nhs.net.

PALS will pass this information onto our Cardiology Outpatient Manager to investigate.

Please be assured, we are keen to look into this matter as soon as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.

As a trust, we value patient all feedback, good or bad, as this helps us to make continuous improvements.

Best wishes
