"Had stroke Stroke unit in A&E were fantastic"

About: Queen's Hospital / Accident & emergency

I was taken to A&E by my husband. It was an extremely busy unit full of frightened people including me. Had CT scan which confirmed I had a stroke. I was in a bit of shock to be honest. I was under the stroke unit in A&E. I had a Doppler on carotid artery and that came back normal. I was discharged but there's been nothing since. I feel like I've just been left to my own devices. I'm very frightened. I still can't walk in a straight line and my speech gets slurred when I'm stressed. The only advice I was given was to not drive for four weeks. Further investigations on my discharge note was echocardiogram and 24hr tape. I've received appt for those but nothing regarding the stroke. Or anything else. I was told I would be under the stroke team forever but not heard a thing from them. I'm very worried.
