"I've been left with no help."

About: University Hospital Monklands / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I had a hip replacement four months ago, at Monklands hospital.

I still have pain in my hip. I’ve had problems with my aftercare, with pain in my foot, toes, both knees. I feel like the pain is 10 times worse.

I’ve had a Neuro referral for pain management, which I have not found good or helpful. I found the doctor there cold and unsympathetic to what I’m going through after my operation.

I feel like my operation has not gone well. Physio has not helped, I feel like the doctor is not supportive. I have been left with one leg longer than the other, and I feel like “what now? ! ” I can’t walk properly, I’m in pain, and feel like ive been left with no help.

Dear Law569

I am sorry to hear that you are still in pain after your hip surgery and feel that you have been left with no options to help you manage this - I can appreciate how distressing this must be for you. I am aware from your comments above that you have had a referral to Neurology for pain management, however, have not found this to have been helpful.

If you would like to get in touch with our Patient Affairs Department on 01236 712140 and give them your details, they will be happy to look into this further for you.

Kind Regards

Lynn
