"Glad to leave northcroft"

Each time I have visited northcroft I have seen a different pshychatrist. I find it difficult to talk, trust and open up to people so seeing a different pshychatrist each time is very stressful and causes a lot of anxiety. The 2 people I saw were useless. One a trainiee told me I had depression and there was no other diagnosis (one I felt I had, (not ready to say what)) yet weeks later I recieved the diagnosis I was dreading. I'm pretty certain they didnt want to be there and would rather be somewhere else than sit in a room with me, and didn't wish to listen to my concerns and fobbed me off. Another pshychatrist was fantastic who explained my diagnosis and made me feel so much better about the diagnosis and myself and was very respectful. I let there feeling at ease and understanding more about my diagnosis. A genuine nice person. The most recent pshychatrist I saw made me feel worse about my circumstances and left me feeling that my present circumstances were my fault. Clearly doesn't have a clue when it comes to childhood trauma and shouldn't be working with such patients. I left feeling awful and not waiting to engage any further. I have since withdrawn from specialist pshycotherapy services and have asked to be discharged from the cmht. I no longer feel I can talk to or open up to anyone let alone a psychiatrist again.

We can learn more from your feedback if you feel able to contact our Customer Relations team on 0800 953 0045. We can investigate your concerns through involvement of a more senior consultant. We can also discuss how you could meet with specialist services again and hopefully feel more comfortable with someone who will understand your situation.
