Had to attend with my brother to have his badly deformed elbow seen to after having suffered a trapped nerve and the joint locking. He was in excruciating pain prior to the hospital attendance. We arrived in a&e we where seen very quickly to be fair. After explaining to the doctor what brought him in he offered him two painkillers and ibuprofen. The doctor requested an xray and to cut a long story short the xray showed nothing new from the last one so the doctor then said he then would require physio therapy. Bearing in mind my brother has attended the orthopaedic clinic at another hospital and been refused a new joint.
Apparently the A&E doctor said his notes stated he was not for any further surgical intervention according to the orthopaedic clinic. What got me was the whole lack of wanting to help and offer solutions that is my main gripe here. At one point after asking if nothing else could be done. We were told we do not do referrals you would have to go see your g. p. at this point my brother was in so much pain he was more or less pleading with the doctor for help. But they said I wish I could help you but I cant. I made my feelings known and I was basically told what is it you want me to do. I was disgusted at their whole attitude and we left the hospital no better than we came in. We were given co codamol and sent on our way. Absolutely no time for you at all.
