"Dentistry"

I walked in because I had an unbearable pain in one of my teeth for which I was waiting for a hospital appointment for over four weeks. But the receptionists were unsympathetic and unhelpful. They said they couldn't help me and there was nothing they could do to let me see the dentist because I did not have an appointment.

I walked in around 4pm but they claimed they were closing soon anyway.

When I went back home in pain and checked the website, I found that the dentistry actually closes at 6pm.

All I needed was antibiotics. But they didn't want to know. I even considered going to A&E at that night because I couldn't sleep due to the severe pain. I was incredibly lucky to have a doctor friend who gave me a private prescription of antibiotics next day.

What's the point of having dentistry in walk in centre if the receptionists don't want to take you on because they want to go home early or not sympathetic enough to let you see the emergency dentist??

We’re sorry you’re unhappy with your experience. Unfortunately the Emergency Dental Service is not a walk-in service and is conducted by appointment only as detailed on our website. The service is extremely busy and staff are unable to accommodate walk-in requests. https://www.penninecare.nhs.uk/your-services/service-directory/bury/dental/dental/bury-urgent-and-emergency-dental-service/

The Walk-in Centre is a separate service located in the same building which does not deal with dental issues.

We apologise for any confusion this may have caused.
