I spent two nights as a patient on 8HDU following an operation on my ear. Due to a number of complex health conditions I required close monitoring following surgery. I cannot praise the staff enough for the wonderful care they took of me. I was in a lot of pain with very high blood pressure and problems with my asthma. The doctors and nurses on the ward were compassionate, attentive and quick to act when meducation was required. The nurses who cared for me went above and beyond to ensure I was as comfortable as possible and my medication was adjusted to control my pain better. I was already a month into a difficult admission during which I had been very unwell and the care I received on 8DU has meant that I have now made a good start on the long road to recovery. A credit to the NHS- thank you!
