My mother died at St Mary's nearly 4 weeks ago.
She was admitted to A & E but despite all efforts, she could not overcome the sepsis which killed her.
All the staff who treated her (Douglas Observation Ward etc) were kindness itself and the Chaplain service was very welcome.
My father was admitted to A & E last Sunday and received first rate emergency treatment which saved his life.
He recovered in the Joseph Toynbee and Witherow Wards - all staff were kind and diligent.
Many thanks to all the medical and nursing staff.
I am however horrified by the lackadaisical cleaning - at best - veering towards outright contempt and rudeness demonstrated by some of the cleaning staff.
Curt commands are given ('give me that tray'), my requests for cleaning the table, on which the food is served, were ignored and when pressed, the response was anger and aggression.
It is as though these cleaners are in control of the wards. Astonishing.
"Excellent care but dreadful cleaning staff"
