I was admitted to ERI as an emergency via my GP with widespread gastric pain and vomiting. I had been suffering with this problem for some time and attending my GP surgery and SJH for scans, blood tests etc. Following my admission I had to have my gall bladder removed.
I can only say I have the utmost respect for the care and treatment I was afforded during my 5 day stay. Everyone was very professional and kept me informed every step of the way. I cannot thank the staff of ward 106 enough - Dr Demarcus and his team, all nursing staff of all grades, and ancillary staff each and everyone of you are worth your weight in gold.
Often we only hear of the horror stories associated with our NHS and I think it is important that people should hear the positives as well. Despite this being a busy ward as a patient I was never made feel that staff were too busy or didn't have enough time for the patients.
God bless you all you do a fantastic job.
Ever thankful to be pain free
