About: One Recovery Bucks

(as a service user),

I have been in addiction to both drugs and more latterly alcohol for 28 years. I have previously sought treatment in private residential rehab and am no longer physically addicted to alcohol. However I still have a problem with emotions and feelings which have caused me to binge heavily. Therefore am currently seeking CBT based support through STARS in High Wycombe.

What could be improved?  Understanding that everyone is different.

Thanks for taking the time to feedback back to us at STARs.

It is good to hear you have such a personal awareness of your situation. I would be interested to know if you feel you are not being treated as an individual with your own needs, as this should be paramount for anyone using our service. Phone the service directly and ask to speak to me directly is this is the case.

Did you know that in Bucks we also have Healthy Minds, the IAPT service who can provide CBT interventions specifically targeted to emotions, discuss this as an avenue of care with your key worker especially if it is your emotions rather than dependency that is your main issue now.
