"waiting time for knee replacement."

About: University Hospital Monklands / Trauma & orthopaedics University Hospital Wishaw / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I Was referred by my GP in August 2016 for two knee replacements, I feel I am no nearer getting my operation now than I was then. I have been for the assessment to Monklands, the joint clinic in Wishaw and a letter stating I would be operated on before the 24th March2017. That date has been and gone and still no operation. All I seem to get is correspondance from different departments but as yet no date. I have phoned Wishaw, Monklands, East Kilbride hospital and spoken to several staff who just seem to shove me from pillar to post, and do not phone back when they say they will, could you look into the above?

Dear Rabbie

I can understand your frustration, no-one wants to have surgery and I'm sure the wait is adding to your anxiety.

I'm sorry that you have been unable information, can you contact Melanie MacLean, Patient Affairs Manager on 01236 713065, in order that she may look in to your particular case.

Kind regards

Ruth
