"Special needs, no problem!"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital / General surgery

Today I took my son who is 28 and autistic to the Victoria hospital day surgery. He was having some extensive dental treatment under general anaesthetic. The specially trained team could not have been better. They barely left our side and spoke to Mark at his level, even if I had to answer all the questions. The whole experience was stress free and I was completely reassured at all times. Thank you so much for your care and attention.

Thank you for taking the time to provide me with feedback regarding you and your son's recent experience at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. It is really great to read that you felt that the team could not have been better and you found the experience to be stress free.

I will share your story with the teams involved including Mark as I know that he will be as pleased as they are to read this.

One of the ways we learn from our Patient Experiences is through our patient story programme. As you’re someone who has come into contact with many of our Staff from different areas, and if you feel able, could you contact my colleague Eleanor on Eleanor.Walsh@bfwhospitals.nhs.uk to establish if this is something you would like to participate in?

Thank you once more

Andrew
