"Ambulance to A&E then Acute Medical Ward for..."

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital / Accident and emergency

My elderly Father was not very well and needed to go to hospital.

Being very deaf it can be hard work to communicate at the best of times, but being unwell his deafness added to a difficult and frightening situation for him and the family.

I can say whole heartedly that all the staff at Blackburn in each and every Department that we had dealings with where excellent.

The extra time that was spent to fully explain all procedures ensured both ourselves and especially my Father felt that a high level of dignity was maintained.

We were allowed to stay with Dad until he was fully confident in his surroundings.

In addition to this we felt that we where involved the decisions taken.

In Blackburn we are very lucky to have such staff.

The new building is very modern, all necessary tests are carried out throughout the night with fast results enabling in our case a speedy recovery.

I would like to thank the staff for their expertise and most of all the compassion shown to our family.

Thank you so much for your feedback regarding the accident and emergency and the acute medical unit at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, and thank you for taking the time to do so.

It is lovely to receive such positive feedback about the support, care and treatment your elderly father received from the staff during his admission and the compassion shown to your family.

I will ensure your comments are passed onto the team who will be delighted to receive such wonderful feedback as they always strive to deliver safe, personal & effective care.
