I went in to the minor injury unit following a fall when stepping down from a step in York, I thought I would go and get it checked as my ankle felt a bit sore. I first got called in to see one of the consultants who had a look at my ankle and sent me for an x-ray. As soon as I had the x-ray they told me to sit back in the other waiting area to see the consultant for the results. The consultant told me there was a fracture to my ankle and that I would need to go to Hull Royal to get a cast on, they gave me a letter for the 22nd April to be seen at the fracture clinic at Hull Royal. I went this morning with my dad a nurse called me in, I saw a doctor who said I wouldn't need a cast on. They just told me to rest it and take some painkillers and said I am fine to go back to work on Monday. While I am glad I don't need a cast on, I think I shouldn't need to waste my time going to Hull Royal. The woman at the minor injury unit could have told me this.
