We visited today with out 7 year old daughter who had a suspected broken arm after a fall at the local play barn. She was in a huge amount of pain and the staff were very responsive and made getting her pain under control and immediate priority. We were seen immediately and once she was comfortable we were introduced to the hospital play worker who was amazing!! They built a relationship quickly and put lily at ease. This distracted her from the pain and enabled the doctor to complete an examination of her injury.
We also had a student with us who was fabulous too. The x-ray process was painful and they managed to talk lily in to the movements she needed to make even though it was clearly uncomfortable. The trust they built was key to this. All of the staff were great - bubbly, warm, attentive etc etc. Amazing. In the event of an emergency with the children in future I would be there in a flash. Faultless.
Luckily we didn't have a broken arm so just a sling but very happy with that!
