My 82 year old father-in-law was admitted to Blackpool Victoria Hospital yesterday evening suffering from breathing difficulties( the ambulance was called). He waited all evening on a trolley to be seen by a doctor which is what I would expect seeing as though we are constantly being told that the NHS is in crisis. My mother-in-law got a phone call at 2am to say that he had seen the doctor as and there was no bed for him then he would have the choice of going home or continuing the night on a trolley. Evidently he opted to go home. My mother-in-law is a double amputee invalid. She struggle out of bed to let my father-in-law in the house at 3am. He had been dropped at the road-side in his pyjamas by the taxi driver and struggled up the path to the house without his walking aid which he usually uses. It was almost freezing last night. I am thoroughly disgusted.
