Honestly I don't know what to say. I've been discharged from camhs twice and both times I felt worse than when I started going, I didn't get diagnosed with anything despite struggling with several issues for 4+ years. I just got told it was 'part of my personality' which is just wonderful to know that my 'personality' is suicidal and I'll be struggling with self harm for the rest of my life like wow thanks so much for making me feel better!
I also feel like they tried to belittle my problems as after a suicide attempt she suggested that it was to 'get back' at my family or a boyfriend (!) for something. I honestly have no idea where she got this from as I've been suicidal for 5 years and I've never had a boyfriend (sidenote: she didn't ask if I had a boyfriend or even if I was straight which I think makes this even more inappropriate)
Finally, someone I saw in camhs told personal information about me to another patient which is just highly inappropriate for obvious reasons and has put me off seeking further help
So in summary: if you/your child get an appointment for this camhs unit, just run. Run in the opposite direction because from my experience it just leaves you feeling 10x worse and I wish I hadn't bothered in the first place
