"STARS has been a lifeline"

About: One Recovery Bucks

(as the patient),

I started using and drinking heavily when my dad passed away and as I was his carer I was very devastated and affected by his death. I was hospitalised as a result of my heavy drinking and I almost came to the point of death. I became suicidal and very depressed at some point and nearly killed myself. I was referred by my GP to SMART but it took more than 3 months for me to get to STaRS and get on a script. I thought that was too long but I kept to the programme and eventually got to Stars which has been brilliant for my recovery.

STaRS has been a lifeline for me and Vicky has been a great help to my recovery and given me hope to live.

Staff have been supportive and I believe that they genuinely want to help and are just not doing a job. I am really happy to have gone to Stars in High Wycombe.

Thank you for taking time to give us your valuable feedback. I am sorry it took you so long to get referred into us at STARs but it is fantastic that you stuck with your own programme and motivation to your recovery.

As service manager it is great to hear that you have found the service and staff caring in a genuine way (that's why we do what we do!). Vicky is a great professional keyworker and I will ensure she gets your feedback.

Keep working on your recovery and accessing all we have to offer within STARs and the Recovery Network.

All the very best with your recovery, recovery around your substance use and mental health.

Kind Regards

Tracy
