"3 year old reffered for grommets"

About: Rotherham Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

my child was referred by the audiologist for grommets, the consultant decided to discharge her and said it would clear up in its own time. the glue ear did not clear up and my child still has it 6 months on, this has massively affected her hearing, and as a result of this her speech and language development is now very delayed!

Dear Anonymous

I am very concerned to read about your experience, this is certainly distressing and not what we would expect any of our patients to experience.

I have spoken with the Head of Primary Ear Care and Audiology Services who would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns in more detail. Should you wish to do so please contact the Patient Experience Team on 01709 424461 in the first instance.
