"Good work, done in a manner that was spot on"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

Had reason to be taken by ambulance to hospital over Easter weekend with severe chest pain which turned out to be suspected gallstone. That said, want to thank and commend the team that came to my assistance for their professional, calm and down to earth approach which in itself helped massively under the circumstance but also helped me not feel a fool or wrong for calling out an ambulance. Good work, done in a manner that was spot on AND they were so quiet arriving and then leaving with me in tow that they didn't wake the kids or the neighbours even though it was 3. 30am!

Many thanks.

Dear ajc080216969

Thank you for sharing your experience on Patient Opinion. It sounds like it must have been quite a stressful Easter weekend for you.

It can be quite hard to work out what is causing pain in the upper abdomen and chest and gall stones can cause chest pain so it is always worth seeking advice. I am really glad that the ambulance staff were able to put you at ease and convey you to hospital safely...and quietly!

I would like to be able to pass your thanks onto the ambulance staff who cared for you on that night but would need a few more details to be able to do that. If you are able to provide some more details you can contact me on 0131 314 0003 or at martinesposito@nhs.net

I do hope you are getting some rest and recovering well.

Take care

Martin.
